The Young Plant Producer competition offers a unique opportunity for our industry’s rising stars to grow their careers and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Young Plant Producer* is an annual competition organised by NZ Plant Producers Inc.

The two-day event challenges competitors on their skills in:

The finalists receive an invaluable boost of experience, industry insight, and mentorship, plus the chance to win a $4000 fund to advance their career through further training and/or travel .

The winner also gains automatic entry to the Young Horticulturist of the Year award where they compete against finalists from the entire horticulture sector, vying for a prize pool worth more than $20,000.

*Note that the competition was called Young Achiever of the Year until 2023.
