Horticentre Charitable Trust Continues as Exclusive Sponsor of Grower2Grower
“Together we share a goal of offering future growers, and existing growers, a tool set, of credible trusted information, to achieve better outcomes”.
We are extremely honoured to announce the continuation of the Horticentre Trust as the Exclusive Sponsor of Grower2Grower for a further twelve months. Together we share a goal of offering future growers, and existing growers, a tool set, of credible trusted information, to achieve better outcomes. Our plan is to engage with educational institutions to endorse the protected cropping industry, promote the opportunities available and all the benefits to those pursuing a future and career in the horticulture industry.
Last year we achieved one of these goals by working with the Young Horticulturist Competition, promoting the event and its participants. I was privileged to represent Grower2Grower as one of the speech judges.
Marie and I would like to thank the Horticentre Trust Board for their sponsorship. Their support enables us to continue promoting sustainable protected cropping in New Zealand, we are excited for what the future holds.
What is the New Zealand Horticentre Trust?
2008 saw the establishment of The New Zealand Horticentre Trust, a Charitable Trust with the objective of providing “a helping hand for the horticulture and viticulture sectors”.
The Horticentre Charitable Trust supports these sector groups and growers in the promotion of education, training, research & development, grower welfare and disaster relief.
How does the Horticentre Charitable Trust receive its funding?
The trading members of the Group (Horticentre, TasmanCrop & HortFertplus) have two primary responsibilities:
- FUND GROWER INITIATIVES
Provide the NZ Horticentre Trust with an income stream that is used to fund grower initiatives that benefit horticulture and viticulture across New Zealand.
- BETTER RESULTS
Provide quality products and technical advice that creates the opportunity for the grower to achieve a better outcome.
What can I do to help funding streams available for horticulture and viticulture in New Zealand?
Your support of Horticentre, TasmanCrop and HortFertplus will enable these horticulture and viticulture supply companies to commit ongoing funds to the Horticentre Charitable Trust.
